Proving newtons second law
Question: what is the relationship between Force, Mass, and acceleration ?
Materials Used: Car, Weights, Scale.
Hypothesis: They are all elements of an object. They all affect each other in an experiment.
Procedure: Step one: we started off with setting up the board flat. we put the 200g weight and pulled the car with the scale. We put down the results we got.
Step two: We then inclined the board and pulled the car up with three different weights. 20,100,200. WE wrote down the results and we also had the board inclined on the text book.
Step three: we then changed the incline again and put it up on a weighing scale. We changed the weights so we could get different results.
Step four: when we were done finishing that we had our graph all filled out.
Step Five: We then made a line graph and we had finished
Graph:
Height / flat / textbook / scale / acceleration
200g 200N .6 110 1
20g .1N .2 50 10
100g .5N .25 70 10
Conclusion: Our conclusion ended up being weird because our graph and measurements didn't make any since so we had to keep trying to correct it but it didn't come together. However i had fun doing the experiment and i am looking forward to having our next lab.

Audiokinetic Sculpture
I found that sculpture to be very fascinating because the sculpture never stops going and it works by force and other things. One thing that i didn't like about it was the location. The reason why i didn't like the location is because when you looked at the top of the sculpture the sun would be in your eyes and you couldn't really study the sculpture.
Fantastic Forces
i found that to be boring because i felt as though i already knew the things that the worker was teaching us. However there was one part in the presentation that i liked and that was when she pulled the cloth out from under the glasses. The lady that was presenting the experiment was a little on the weird side and kinda ruined the presentation for me.
Engineering Design: Bobsled
i found that to be the most fun part of our trip because we were able to make our own sculpture and then test them out. This Design was interesting in many ways because it helped me understand what materials can cause friction and what materials can cause less friction.

How does the protein that you eat wind up building your muscles? How does that bowl of pasta give you energy? Why do we need to eat fat?
1. when we eat protein our body breaks it down through digestion and then the broken down food is sent through our bloodstream and then it is rebuilt into muscle.
2. it gives you energy because the carbohydrates break down the sugar molecules and produce energy.
3.we need to fats because in the fat that we eat it has phospho lipid bilayers and we need that because it protects the cell membrane. it also provides insulation for the human body.

Synthesis
- Two or more substances combine to form another more complex substance.
A+B-->AB
Decomposition
- One substance breaks down into two or more simpler substances
AB-->A+B
Single displacement
- Occurs when one element replaces another element in a compound
A+By---> Ay+B
Double Displacement
- Two different atoms in two different compounds exchange places
Ay+Bx--->Ax+By
Combustion
- A hydrocarbon reacts with oxygen
- The products of combustion are always water and carbon dioxide
- Hydrogen + Oxygen
----> water+carbon Dioxide
When we lit the steel wool on fire it was an example of synthesis
Fe+ O2+fe O3
An example of Decomposition is when the baking soda was heated
NaHCO3------>H2O + Co2+ NAOH
an example of single displacement is the nail in sulfate

Flame Test Lab
This past week we have been working with flames and and testing there color changing patterns with chemicals. During the flame test we used a piece of wire with the end formed as a loop.To clean the wire, we had to dip the end in the concentrated hydroelectric acid and then we were assigned to put the wire in the flame. Each station had a different chemical and we had to take notes on the different colors that each chemical made.
Chemical Formula Name of Metal Color Produced
Nn Mncl Green, Orange, Blue Sr Sr(no32) Pink, red
CN CNc/2 Blue, Green
CO Coci2 Orange
Mg Mgcl Blue, green, orange, red
Blt Ba(.no3) Green, Yellow, Orange
Questions to answer
- Not cleaning the metal rod in the Hydroelectric acid, and also Not getting enough of the chemical that is there to test onto the metal wire.
- By them not showing any color when you put it into the flame.
- You need to look at more then one piece to get the answer.
- By the chemicals burning and them letting off the color as they are being burned. One the chemical gets to a certain heat it starts to light a of a color as it burns
- strawtheium,lithium, violet would be last because it has the highest energy.
- Because they have to get to a certain temperature before they let of the color.

law of conservation of mass
This past week we have been working with chemicals and finding the mass for each of them. the chemical reaction took place when the liquid started to turn white. when we took our third observation the chemical started of as purple but when we added the chemicals the liquid turned clear. the mass of the reactants was the same as the mass of the products. Yes, the mass has been conserved

Where do elements come from
Elements of the world came from hydorgen gas which is in clouds. The universe is about 95% hydrogen. CLouds of hydrogen gas and dust are comprssed by gravity into stars, which, by the process of nuclear fusion,change a one-proton hydrogen nucleus into a two-proton helium nucleus. Elements came from the nuclear fusion which take place at the cores of stars. The nuclear fusion in the stars also is a bug reason why there are elements here on earth.
All Liquids,gases, and solids found on our planet are made from or more of 92 naturally occuring elements. From what they have observed, scientists have determined that these same 92 elements are found throughout our universe. This suggests that a common process leads to their creation. Elements come from a lot of things that go around the world.
